About Time

Looks like this fellow subscribes to the philosophy of:
What's mine is Mine; What's yours is Yours ...and, most important of all ... What's Mine is Not Yours - regardless of how much better a place/use you think you can find for my money than I can.
Gee, imagine that.

Do these donkeys and elephants in DC not get it? It will be good if in 2010 the people help them to get it.  However, regime change needs to occur in both the donkey and the elephant pens, and indeed, a growing portion of the American People are starved and looking for a different kind of animal altogether, because the donkeys and elephants keep stinking up the zoo.

Notice how this fellow isn't talking about  or against a political party - he is talking about the cancer and the culture of corruption that is growing in DC and also taken root at the state and local levels - the cancer of an ever encroaching government that is out of touch with the people and out of touch with the Constitution and the morality that created it in the first place. A government and political party system that has figured out that to get votes and stay in power, you create entitlement and largess so as to result in faction amongst the piglets grunting at the trough of the government entitlement.

Once that faction has taken hold, then you pit the factions against each other in a struggle to get "theirs", for with faction,  as long as one can get "theirs" then the natural human tendency is to not care about the impact on anybody else - unless that affects your amount of handout.

Thus it is that the farmer will never vote for anybody that wants to do away with the redistribution of wealth that is coming courtesy of the federal government into his pocket (think farm subsidy).

Thus it is that the wool produces of Texas will work against anybody that wants to do away with their mohair subsidy.

Thus it is that anybody that has stocks and bonds will work against anybody that threatens to change the tax structure of their capital gains.

Thus it is that the older people that are on or looking to that Social Security check will vote against anyone that threatens to reduce their take (of money that is rightfully theirs by virtue of it being forcibly taken from them in the first place).

Thus it is that those who get a subsidy from wind power (a pipe dream), solar power (another pipe dream), driving around in battery-cars ( a bigger resource drain that gas powered cars), will always tell you of the necessity of "their" industry or endeavor, when in fact the necessity is their necessity of that subsidy which is the real reason for their endeavor in the first place.

Thus it is that those having Roth IRA will always vote against anybody who is perceived to threaten their "take" from application of the Roth rules, and are unconcerned if everybody else has to burn in hell as long as the get "theirs".

Thus it was that when the Gestapo came knocking at the other end of the hall, the remainder remained quiet as long as they could continue to "get theirs".
Thus for his own pocket it is that the "community organizer"  organizes. (And you all thought it was about the "community".)

Such struggle then, keeping things ever in motion with neighbor pitted against neighbor, so that the central manipulator can do as it desires.

Quite frankly, I fear that in 2010 there will indeed be a regime change, but that it will only to give us the other side of the same coin and that if ushered into office, the "Conservatives" will continue their own brand of using the machinery of the government, and the police power of the State, to re-direct "benefits" and legislation to their friends and cronies (think Republicans Lamar Smith, John Cornyn & Kay Hutchison voting FRO the TARP) , instead of working to dismantle all the feel-good entitlement machinery and subsidy (think Alexander Hamilton and Progressivism and Social Re-Engineering)  that has been put in place over the last 100 years.

Very well said. I just hope the health care bill wallows long enough for the regime change to stop it. That's my biggest fear for the future.
