It Just Gets Crazier

Making a last-ditch effort to save his health care overhaul, President Barack Obama on Monday put forward a nearly $1 trillion, 10-year compromise that would allow the government to deny or roll back egregious insurance premium increases that infuriate consumers.

Cato says, What an idiot!

a) The insurance companies make somewhere between 2-6 % profits, so they cannot be gouging the consumer. The root cause is simply the perception that the cost of health care is "too high*", not the insurance companies, which he is using as a scapegoat.

b) If consumers are infuriated by an insurance company, they should just be able to go to another one. If you opened up the insurance market to true competition, that could happen.

c) It’s not the government’s job to appease infuriated consumers, it’s the market’s job.

d) Now we suddenly have another manufactured faux crisis – infuriated consumers. Might these be the same consumers ginned up by ACORN to protest foreclosures of houses … uh, that should never have been purchased by those consumers in the first place - and indeed would never have been made available to those consumers had it not been for government meddling in the housing finance business?

~Seneca's Commentary
Right On, Right  On, Right On

* Concerning the "cost" of health care. This too is just a red herring meant to stir up the people. Talking about the high cost of health care begs the question "high cost compared to what"? Tony Parker's salary, the cost of a basketball ticket, death, bones hanging out your arm, kids that die??

Quite frankly the cost of health care is NOT "high". Now, if you want to grouse about health care, grouse about the delivery system and the dismissiveness of most doctors, and how if you have a 10 o'clock appointment, you are kept waiting till 11:30. If you want to grouse, how about grousing to Congress about a patient's rights act which would require the doctor to actually treat you within 10 minutes of your appointment or else he pays you for YOUR time waiting on him? And NO I do not care about how many little Johinnies he had to see before ME.  He made an appointment - I was there - he should be also. A few hundred dollars in time penalties with a posting to the internet will correct this problem quickly.

Top UN climate official resigning

In a surprising move, one of the promoters of the global hoax of Global Warming and Climate Change announced his resignation as the United Nations Chief Climate Negotiator. A climate normalcy denier, Yvo de Boer, a former parole officer, and one having no credible scientific education or experience, yet appointed to position of chief climate negotiator among countries belonging to the UN  expressed disappointment that the UN was not able to broker a deal that would have resulted in massive disruption of the global economy and act to shift wealth from one group to another.

In leaving he said "This calls for new partnerships with the business sector and I now have the chance to help make this happen," meaning that there is a lot of money to be made by companies that smartly position themselves to take advantage of any rules and regulations that the governments effect, and that since he has been in the thick of things that he can help companies use climate change, and government regulatory machinery, as a means to increase their wealth.

See story here

Commentary:
Seneca says Good Riddance! Finance Capital has plenty of other ways to make money for itself other than participation in the setting up of a new world currency (aka Carbon Credits) which if implemented would create a lucrative market in dispensation.

Just as the dispensations expiating sin were bought and sold in medieval times, so too in modern times there are human hearts at play that want to implement a pay for play scheme and apply it to business. The underlying theme is that pollution is but a means to an end - getting money out of one pocket and into another - and using the power of the government to do it.

As General Electric is heavily into manufacture of wind power equipment and fluorescent light bulbs and other so called green technology, it is no wonder that they, like many other chicken littles, are running around crying that the earth is melting, the earth is melting, all the while clucking to themselves as they count the money they are making as a result of their hysterical cries of gloom and doom.

Blogger's Crystal Ball Allows Inference Concerning Iran

From the News

AP - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that Iran is becoming a military dictatorship, a new U.S. accusation in the midst of rising tensions with Iran over its nuclear ambitions and crack down on anti-government protesters.

Hummmmm.. I wonder what the best structure is if you are going to be fighting a war of some kind? Nations on a true wartime footing always structure this way so as to allow quick and regulated control of the machinery of war. Even in America we had the equivalent during WWI and WWII. So too, then, is this a precursor to Iran's future engagement with the west? Me thinks so.

JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL

The Set Up:
You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal."  Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes  $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number,  and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table."

Ready? Now pay attention ...
Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00  per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for His family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now Has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or Welfare. Joe Legal pays $500..00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal Still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children have an after School ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay .. but does Jose still vote and even if not, Jose illegal is still illegal.

Get It.

Republican Primary News - A Refreshing Choice

To all my political colleagues and friends,

I was flipping channels the other day and by chance stopped on the channel that was airing a debate between the candidates that are posted for the March Republican Primary.

On the left side was "Bailout Kay" Hutchison (R), currently serving in Washington DC as one of our Senators, and now wanting to bring her big government experience to shackle us Texans.

On the other side was Rick Perry talking his brand of government-speak and wanting to bring more of his brand of professional politicking back for a 3d term.

In the middle sat Debra Medina. I had never heard of her and figured that, once again, I was going to hear another one of those non-debate debates. You know, the kind where the candidates are asked all sorts of pre-prepared questions, to which they never give any real answer other that the bromides and platitudes that mean nothing for certain.

Sure enough, when Hutchison spoke it was more of the same of the scripted government-speak that we have heard coming out of Washington for years. When Perry spoke, it was the same. Then came Medina and I was astounded that I was hearing direct answers to the questions, and answers that were in plain English, not that political ambigu-speak usually uttered by those seeking or holding office.

Illegals - kick them out

Guns - Federal government needs to step aside and start living the 2d Amendment

Spending - Stop/Restrict

Welfare - Not governments job to make sure you have a job

Property taxes - Get rid of them as they are an oppression against private property

Sales taxes - Stop all the exemptions and raise money money in that manner thru sales taxes

Debt Control - Stop all the politically correct entitlement spending

FINALLY somebody that represents MY values.

After hearing her, I did a Google and find that she is the real deal.

I endorse Medina in the March Primary - the election that will determine who will be posted in the Republican side and I ask you to support her too.

If like me, you have felt that your voice is not heard and that the politicians, including the Republican Party, are out of touch with you, then voting in this primary is a way to change things, for it is ONLY thru the Primary Process that the Republican Party can be morphed into something that represents YOU instead of "The Machine".

Right now both party machines are ignoring candidates like Medina because candidates like her ( & Palin) are seen as a threat to the existing power structure of the machine, although in Mass., we saw that a "regular guy" (Scott Brown) is what the people want.

Make no mistake my friends, the purpose of the Democrat Machine and the Republican Machine is to perpetuate the existence of the machine NOT to make sure that your voice is heard.

There is only one way to correct this and it is not in the general election - it is in the Primary Elections and electing Medina in the Primary as the one that will have to be posted as the November Republican candidate will send a clear message to the Republican Party of Texas that a change is a'coming where the people demand real candidates and a real Republican party instead of what it now represents which is Democrat-Lite.

Here is the link to her website for more information.

Here is some video:

More can be found on YouTube

I ask you to send YOUR message by voting for Debra Medina in the March Republican Primary. How you vote there will let the Party know what you might be thinking in the 2010 & 2012 National elections and let them know that there are more of you than they think.

Obama Pulls Plug on Health Reform

In remarks at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser Thursday night, and with approval from the White House Death Panel, President Obama pulled the life support from the dying patient of Health Care Reform. In doing so he stated :
"And it may be that ... if Congress decides we're not going to do it, even after all the facts are laid out, all the options are clear, then the American people can make a judgment as to whether this Congress has done the right thing for them or not, ..."  "And that's how democracy works. There will be elections coming up and they'll be able to make a determination and register their concerns one way or the other during election time."

Now, for all of you out there in fly-over land what this really means is that if "health care" dies and the Democrats get ousted in November 2010, Obama will, in his haughty and imperious manner, declaim that they were defeated exactly because they did not pass his health care and that if they had passed it they would have been fine.

Gotta start calling him Teflon Obama.

Important Information on Stimulus

Just in Case You Get a Check...

Sometime this year, we taxpayers will again receive an Economic  Stimulus payment. This is a very exciting program.

I'll explain it using the Q and A format:

---------------------------------------------------------------

Q. What is an Economic Stimulus payment?

A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this money?

A. From taxpayers..

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?

A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment?

A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of Asia?

A. Shut up or you don't get your check.

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:

1. If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, your money will go to China.

2. If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to Saudi Arabia.

3. If you purchase a computer, it will go to India.

4. If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico,  Honduras or Guatemala.

5. If you buy a car, it will go to Japan or Korea.

6. If you purchase useless plastic stuff, it will go to Taiwan.

7. If you pay off your credit cards, or buy stock, it will go to pay management bonuses and be hidden in offshore accounts.

Or, you can keep the money in America by:

1. spending it at yard sales or flea markets, or

2. going to baseball or football games, or

3. hiring prostitutes, or

4. buying cheap beer or

5. getting tattoos.

These are the only wholly-American-owned businesses still operating in the US.

Conclusion:

The best way to stimulate the economy is to go to a ball game with a prostitute that you met at a yard sale and drink beer all day until you're drunk enough to go get tattooed.

Any Third Grader Can Tell What is In Store with the Obama Budget

Headline # 1
Obama unveils 2011 budget with $3.83T in spending (AP)

Headline #2
EU cautions Greece about its deficit

But I guess the American farmer, rancher, city dweller and soccer moms can't see the curious conflict n the two headlines?? Like hell they can't!

Any 3d grader will tell you that Greece must have had an Obama equivalent and that as surely as headline #2 follows as a result of the acts described in headline #1, that in a few years headline #3 will read - " China cautions US about its deficit"

"But all that is OK as long as I can get mine* at the expense of yours."

* My

farm subsidy
ranch subsidy
mohair subsidy
ethanol subsidy
English for illegals subsidy
welfare payment subsidy
wind energy subsidy
having 12 kids subsidy
tax exemption subsidy
college loan subsidy
disabled construction subsidy
auto manufacturers subsidy
Mexican grocery workers subsidy
white guys working without partners subsidy
historic preservation subsidy
tree preservation subsidy
plant construction subsidy
I'm over 65 subsidy
I'm under 65 subsidy

Get it? What is YOUR subsidy and who will YOU tolerate and put into power so as to protect it - to hell with the country and whether there should be any of these subsidies in the first place.

What a gimmick of the politician - tax and create subsidy/entitlement so as to change all into pigs groveling and grunting at the trough with nary an eye or an ear to the approach of the butcher.
